Glycolic Acid Peel

Glycolic acid is one of a group of acids known as alpha hydroxyl acids (AHA). It is found naturally in sugar cane, grapes, pineapple and cantaloupe and is commonly used in skin care treatments including acne treatment, exfoliation, and chemical peels. A Glycolic acid peel, or alpha hydroxy acid peel, is a chemical peel that removes your uppermost layer of skin. The glycolic peel process triggers the production of new collagen and elastin and, as a result, erases fine lines and wrinkles, evens out skin discoloration, and improves skin texture.

Active Ingredients:

  • Glycolic Acid – keratolytic AHA that smoothes skin and improves skin’s texture
  • Phytic Acid – antioxidant that prevents lipid peroxidation
  • Citric Acid – antioxidant that preserves the natural moisturizing factor
  • Bilberry Fruit Extract – antioxidant that helps strengthen capillaries and has anti-inflammatory properties
  • Raspberry Fruit Extract – antioxidant with astringent and anti-inflammatory benefits

How It Works:

Glycolic acid works by breaking down the glue like substances that bond dead skin cells beneath the top layer of skin.

Dead skin cells, which contribute to clogged pores and dull skin, are then rinsed away.

Benefits:

Glycolic acid is an exfoliant that removes the top, dead layer of skin and restores a healthy glow. Skin looks softer and smoother.

Glycolic acid has been shown to help diminish fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots.

It also helps smooth out uneven facial tone and can even reduce the appearance of surgical scars, acne scars, and other blemishes.

Results:

The skin’s youthful look and tone is restored because this peel helps stimulate elastin and collagen production.

  • Hyperpigmentation
